When was the last time you had a check-up?

This week is National Women’s Health Week, kicking off with National Check-Up Day, encouraging women to take time to focus on their health and make their doctor appointments. Women tend to be busy caring for their families and worrying about everyone’s doctor appointments except for their own. Between taking care of everyone and working one or more full-time jobs, mammograms and pap smears fall between the cracks and are never rescheduled. WomensHealth.gov aims to remind women to take care of themselves too. They are encouraging women to schedule;

  • A Regular Health Screening
  • A Yearly OBGYN Appointment
  • An Eye Doctor Appointment
  • A Dental Appointment
  • Prenatal Doctor Appointments
  • An Appointment for Vaccine Boosters

Any scans, x-rays, or ultrasounds they have been putting off. And the goal is not just for you to schedule them, but to go to them! Statistics clearly show that preventative care saves lives. Your family relies on you, loves you, and wants you to stick around. You also won’t have time to accomplish all your goals if you aren’t around anymore, so please take the time to schedule and go to your preventative and check-up appointments. All preventative services are now covered by insurance companies across the U.S.
