Trumps administration plans to change more in the health care sector.  Republicans in Congress have said they want to follow up the tax bill success with reforming entitlement programs such as Medicaid and Medicare “to make them look more market-like,”.  Some changes that the Republican party might implement for Medicaid include:

- creating premiums for Medicaid beneficiaries
-a better grip on standards for eligibility
-having some part of the Medicaid population purchasing coverage on exchanges

Paul Ryan has been talking about tackling Medicaid in the past.  “We’re going to have to get back next year at entitlement reform, which is how you tackle the debt and the deficit," Ryan said in a radio interview last week. And, he said, “I think the President is understanding choice and competition works everywhere, especially in Medicare.” Last month, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said: “We have to do two things. We have to generate economic growth, which generates revenue, while reducing spending. That will mean instituting structural changes to Social Security and Medicare for the future.”
