For the rest of the month, everyone will be eating one meal after another, going to work parties, get-togethers and holiday dinner. We all love to indulge in delicious foods and the holidays give us an excuse to continue to indulge in food we normally wouldn’t eat otherwise.

Make sure your being mindful and honest to yourself about what you’re eating but it’s important to enjoy yourself as well. How is that possible? Here are 10 ways:

1.     Don’t go hungry: try and have a healthy snack before you go to a party. Try fruits and whole grains.

2.     Watch the drinks: Alcoholic and holiday drinks ate full of calories.

3.     Drink plenty of water: the more you drink water the less you are going to eat. Get a glass of water and keep it with you.

4.     Choose quality over quantity: skip some food on the buffer line so you can really enjoy something sweet like pumpkin pie or Christmas cookies.

5.     Suggest doing a potluck: you will be able to control what you put in front of you.

6.     Get a small plate: filling up a small plate is not the same as filling of a big plate so you can control how much you are eating.

7.     Pile of vegetables: it’s a good idea to have more vegetables because they’ll fill you up first and will stop you from overeating everything else.

8.     Eat slowly: it can take 15 to 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain its full. So, savor and enjoy the taste of your food.

9.     Get moving: after dinner start moving around like playing the kids or pets.

10.  Be easy on yourself: if you fall off the wagon, don’t worry; tomorrow is another day.
