In life insurance there are different rating classes: Standard Plus, Preferred, and Preferred Plus. Within each class there is smoker and nonsmoker plus. Today I would like to define nonsmoker with e-cigarette smokers.

Did you know that e-cigarette and non-smokers receive significantly lower rates than cigarette smokers?
We are not here to promote smoking, but we do state facts. E-cigarette smokers and non-smokers receive lower rates.
Life insurance has different rates for tobacco users and non-tobacco users.

You will need to write down on your application the last time that you used cigarettes or other nicotine products. The company verifies this by testing your blood and urine and then is examined in order to help determine what kind of life insurance rating class you will get. There are many factors that can shape your life insurance rates, but using tobacco is one that will have the biggest impact.

Since very little is known about electronic cigarettes at this time, you might find that many life insurance carriers will “play it safe” by choosing to issue smoking rates. Depending on your health and other factors, this might not be a huge difference in premium, but we always do research to find the best plan for you.

With that being said, we can obtain low rates for e-cigarette smokers. There are options for individuals using electronic cigarettes. As this is a way to kick the habit of smoking, we are sure that smoking e-cigarettes will only gain popularity.

Contact Cosmo if you are an e-cigarette smoker looking for life insurance options.
