There are multiple options for health insurance coverage for you if you are currently unemployed.  Based on your savings and income you can find a plan that is right for you.  Do some research to see if you qualify for Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). 

When you apply for Marketplace coverage you’ll estimate your income for the current calendar year.

If you lost your job recently, you also qualify for special enrollment period.

The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) gives workers and their families who lose their health benefits the right to choose to continue group health benefits provided by their group health plan for limited periods of time under certain circumstances such as voluntary or involuntary job loss, reduction in the hours worked, transition between jobs, death, divorce, and other life events.
