Anxiety is a detrimental mental health disorder characterized by feelings of worry, anxiety, or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one's daily activities.

Practicing healthy habits will aid in suppressing anxiety symptoms. Eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly are great ways to decrease your likelihood of developing depression and anxiety.

Certain foods are better to eat than others for anxiety. Stay clear of these foods if you struggle with this mental health disorder:

Fruit Juice- Without the fiber from whole fruit, you’re just drinking nutritious sugar-water that can quickly hype you up -- and bring you down just as fast.

Soda and Diet Soda- There is absolutely no nutritional value in soda. When you are drinking soda you are just consuming sugar, empty calories, and fillers. Sugar sweetened sodas are directly linked to depression. Go for club soda instead; it gives you the bubbly fix without the sugar.

White bread and flour- The highly processed white flour it's made from quickly turns to blood sugar after you eat it. That can cause energy spikes and crashes that can be bad for anxiety and depression.

Coffee- Caffeinated beverages are known to trigger anxiety symptoms. It can mess up your sleep, too.

Alcohol- Alcoholic beverages are depressants. Alcohol is known to interfere with your sleep, which can cause mood swings and anxiety. If you are going to drink alcohol, drink in moderation.
