Importance of getting vaccinated

Why Getting Vaccinated is Important

Immunizations can save your life:  vaccines were created to protect yourself from getting severely sick from nasty viruses or diseases that can be life threatening.  A great example of how amazing vaccines are is the vaccination for polio.  Polio was once America’s most-feared disease, causing death and paralysis across the country.  Today, thanks to the vaccine, there are not reported cases of polio.

Here are more reasons why vaccines are important--

Vaccination is safe and effective:  Contrary to some beliefs, vaccines are proven to be safe and almost 100% effective.   Although they can sometimes cause minor side effects, the benefits of the vaccine out way the side effects.

Immunization protects others as well as you:  One of the most important parts about getting vaccinated is that it prevents the spreading of diseases.

Vaccines save you time and money:  A child with a vaccine-preventable disease can be denied attendance at schools or child care facilities.  Those who do not get vaccinated risk the possibility of being exposed to a debilitating disease.   If not vaccinated, contracting a disease can lead to a life of medical bills and pain.

Vaccines protect future generations:  Getting vaccinated now will ensure that future generations will not be exposed to deadly diseases.  Vaccines have reduced and, in some cases, eliminated many diseases that killed or severely disabled people just a few generations ago.

Here are some stats from, https://www.niaid.nih.gov/research/vaccine-benefits , that show how significant vaccinations are.
